simple dishes for simple sahur 02

org2 di umah mmg dah terbiasa makan sahur yg sudah pasti ade nasi n lauk2. nak ubah makan spageti/ bihun/ kurma saje. mmg tadek sape yg terime. kecuali org yg suggest. btw. pagi td another simple sahur. tp alhamdulillah sedap. ade dua lauk. ayam goreng sos tiram dan kacang buncis masak lemak. tp share resipi masak lemak je laa. later baru resipi ayam goreng (menjilat jari). resipi nie tak complicated sgt . sesuai utk org yg dah masuk dapur 4-5 kali.

Kacang Buncis Masak Lemak

bahan2: kacang buncis, udang geragau/kepal, cili padi dihiris tak terlalu halus, garam secukup rase, bawang merah n bawang putih dimayang, sedikit kunyit, air kosong n pati santan

cara2nye: masukkan sedikit minyak, diikuti bawang, cili padi dan udang kepal, tumis sampai garing n naik bau. Lepas tu masukkan air (budget ikut byk sayur), kalo nak kuah byk lebih laa skit. Bagi nak mendidih skit, letak sayur, then diikuti skit pati santan, garam n kunyit. api takleh terlalu panas dan kena selalu kaco, kalo tak pecah santan, tu yg kekadang masak nampak cam ade tompok2 kecik santan. dah siap!

head over heels . .

hari pertama puasa, aku tido most of the day. aku tau. makruh. tp aku mmg tatau nak buat ape lagi utk mengurangkan rasa sakit tekak, demam dan batuk. turut ditambah pula dgn sakit kepala. aku sakit kepala lagi kerana terlalu byk berpk benda2 yang tidak penting. antaranye adalah mengenai seseorg yg buat aku tak bape nak senang tido, makan dan keja sejak kebelakangan ni. bile dah nak petang, mak aku kejutkan. mintak tolong aku buat air tembikai dan goreng tauhu sambal. alhamdulillah semuanye sedap.

malam tu. aku tak terawih. tanak laa jangkitkan wabak yg melanda kat org lain. jdnye aku tgk mentalist.diikuti ceplos. diikuti grey's anatomy (btw..sape2 rase nak propose kat aku, kalo korang buat cam dr.shepard buat, mmg aku konfem terime korang sama ada utk jd gf/isteri la). aku terharu sbb akhirnya diorg akan kawin! . lepas grey's aku tgk bukan bidadari. drama yang org kate pelik dan jelik. tp realitinye. aku rase mmg byk terjadi. malas nak cite byk. sbb aku tak ske sgt dgn pelakon drama tu. pastu aku tgk britannica high. cite ala2 high school. diikuti singgah sahur. dan akhirnya cite yg dinanti2. head over heels.

aku igt lagi memori disebalik cite nie. mase tu dekat metana ke etana. aku kat bilik bestfren aku; Rina dan eja. aku rase pidah, lyn dan mawar pun ade kot. kami tgk cite nie beramai2.sape punye cd pun aku tatau. mmg layanlaa cite nie.1st sbb ade freddie prinze jr . keduanye plot cite menarik. ketiga sbb nie cite komedi romantik dgn sedikit sentuhan triler. keempat sbb gelagat model2 yg turut berlakon. sbb dah lame sgt tak tgk. so aku tgk cam baru 1st time tgk. sambil gelak sorang2.

movie nie pasal sorang minah nie duduk dgn 4 org model yg gile2. pada mase yg same. umah die bertentangan dgn umah sorang mamat hensem nie yg die ske. jadi hari2 heroin tu dan kawan2 die usha umah mamat tu. tujuannye nak cari ape kekurangan mamat tu. dan kebetulannye minah dan mamat nie jatuh cinta. tp satu hari tu heroin nampak hero bunuh org. pas tu. mcm2 laa benda yg kelaka+pelik+ sedih terjadi. cite nie happy ending. sbb tu aku layan.

sape2 yg kurang tahu. head over heels bermaksud dlm omputih - hopelessly, completely. contoh penggunaanye : "Nadia soon found herself head over heels in love with this guy." pape jelah.

Melewatkan sahur bermaksud bersahur ketika menghampiri waktu Subuh. Berkata Zaid: “Sekadar membaca 50 ayat al-Quran.” (Hadis riwayat Bukhari) Dalam kitab Nailul Authar, disebutkan Imam Ibn Abdil Bar berkata bahawa hadis yang menerangkan kepentingan menyegerakan berbuka puasa dan melewatkan sahur semuanya bertaraf sahih dan mutawatir. Penekanan Nabi agar sahur dilewatkan dan tidak diabaikan amat signifikan lagi saintifik kerana ia menepati waktu bersarapan pagi.

This is our first sahur without my sis, Liyana eversince she got married. Btw, she is heavily pregnant with her firstborn. So, as usual the routine continues, on weekends – mum will prepare for sahur n weekdays it is on us, me n my youngest sister. As for buka, it is totally will be last minute thingy; either to cook/ to pack or to dine out. So far, we had packed our iftar. (me n my mum decided it worthless to cook just for two of us) . Eventually, cooking for sahur is one tough task. 1st of all, you had to wake up significantly early from the rest. 2nd, you need to come out with something that is not too spicy and appetizing enough to be eaten for the sahur (which is the hardest part). And finally, you had a time constrain. (unless you’re willing to wake up 2 or 3 hours before imsak to prepare for the dishes)

So, to make things easier, we cooked extra rice for the iftar so the leftover can be reheat for sahur. Then, mum had peeled of lots of onion and garlics to fasten up the preparation of cooking. I on the other hand, had prepared a big Tupperware of blended chili paste. Stocking up eggs, leafy vegetables also helped in cutting down the preparation time. The most important thing is to plan ahead. That’s including setting up the alarm clock and the dishes. (how I wish we could just simply tapau anything and then just reheat the next morning, but the fact fast food usually contains lots of unhealthy additional flavours, guess had to pass on that)

the result had been released since yesterday. eventually i only managed to get to know the result this morning. Thanx to the 'smart' spam filter of yahoo mail. the acca mail had been categorized as spam thus as usual ..we have no interest over the junks..but as most of my colleague had knew their result, i straight away browse thru the spam..and there it was! ACCA result. i might have a good feeling after the exam. but still it was not enuff to comfort me. soo..as i was scrolling down the result..i saw this word 'PASS'.. alhamdulillah! though it was marginal pass..still i'd passed the paper!..sooo..5 lagi...

tujuh belas lagi

how on earth zac efron could be cute, handsome and hunky at the same time? That's what i found out when i watched the movie last week. i watch the movie based on a recommendation of a fren. though a bit cliche in term of the hero got the chance to be young again, but there's turnaround when it comes to the plot. this light movie was suitable to be watch by the family and of course accompanied by parents for those under 12..;)

this was one of the ost from the movie..

p/s: drooling over zac efron!

younger man vs older man . .

Am I destined to be with younger man? Like my mum? Why did I wonder? Past few months, I’d been meeting/being introduced to guys who are younger than me. So, what’s wrong with it? Being with younger guy will make u look younger. Being with younger guy will also make u feel restless. Restless when other people started to ask how old are you? How come you got to know to each other? It will be much more restless when it comes to his parents, especially the mother. Not a conservative. But most of the parents nowadays are still under the spell of “my son should be marrying someone that I approve”, “my son should be marrying someone same as his age”, “my son should be marrying someone who is either as wealthy as us or wealthier than us”. So, when the son still proceeds, than the Ibu Mertuaku modern version will emerge. Those who are smart and brave enough will manage to outdo the “ibu mertua ku” act. Those who aren’t, remained trapped and finally ended at the divorce paper. I think too much. But I can’t stop from thinking. This is not simply a coincidence anymore. I wish it is as simple as what one the guys had told me “Age is just a number”. I wish it is simple enough to contain this budding love.

PTD exam!

I woke up slightly earlier than usual. Dressed up in tunic and long pants. Make a final check – to ensure that I didn’t forget the letter and mykad. Boarded a cab to masjid jamek. Bought the ticket to pandan indah. Reached at pandan indah some where around 8.00. Looked around, unable to locate the nearby cab stand. Now, I started to panic. A makcik told me there’s a cab stand, but have to walk for about 5 min to the main road. There’s another candidate with me too, but she was assigned to diff. location. Managed to get a cab, she suggested we board the cab together. Soon, halfway to my exam centre, the girl started to complain that she will be late. Then, the greedy cab driver dropped me somewhere but not the exam centre and left me wandering around, searching for direction. It was 8.30 am - I was supposed to be at the exam centre already as per required and stated in the letter! But I’m still walking and thinking. I was thinking of giving up. I was so mad and had started to sweat. Thanks to the helpful residents of Pandan Jaya , finally I managed to locate the exam. Found the exam hall. It was free seating. Secured a place right under the fan. I was relieved and glad that I didn’t gave up.

PTD exams started on 9 am and ended at 4.30 pm with 5 sections. General knowledge/maths and penyelesaian masalah/essay comprehension/ English essay and malay essay. The exams was not that tough. But having all being held on the same day, it was soo tiring. Got to know Kak Wan. She sat in front of me. Very friendly, offered me the biscuits that she brought and she even offered to drop me at the monorail station later after the exam. Alhamdulillah.

ohh..nightmares..

nightmares..among symptoms of depression..overstress..it started to haunt me again..fortunately (trying to look for the bright side of it)..it only occurs during the weekends..and weird enough it never missed the sunday's nite (eve of monday)..eventually..i’d been done too many thinking and worrying lately..

am thinking and worrying of resigning and searching for a new job. Thinking of about the exam. Thinking - whether I’d made the right decision of letting him go. Worrying for my sister and her chaotic life and soon to be more chaotic when the baby arrives. Thinking of him again.

The nightmares had been in so many forms it could possibly be. Once, it was about me stabbing a thief with a knife and didn’t feel scared at all. Then, somebody that I know was trying to harm me. I’d lost count the occasional dreams of me being bitten and chased by snakes. Recently I dreamt about Mr. K.A. After so many years! he told me that he divorced his wife to be with me and he’s been looking for me for quite long time. I woke up with a migraine later that day.

Kembara Cendol Part 2

After freshen up and prayed, I lie on the bed while browsing thru the Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows hoping that I will be slowly deprived into sleep while reading it. eventually, I was a bit worried (more to scared), as I had to sleep alone in the room where the bed was just beside the window. So, I slept with the lights on, with the yaasin book beside me and few times terjaga all the night. I only managed to fall into deep sleep after the subuh.

Woke up around 8. rina had already woke up. She was lying on the sofa while watching the astro. She told me that she had a stomach ache. As both of us had been eating the same thing since yesterday morning, and I didn’t experience any mild diarrhea or stomach pain, I assumed that this might be due to improper meal time which cause gas in the stomach. Soon, everybody had woke up, even the little one, Fatin. Fatin will wake up whenever her parents are awake (dunno whether this is good thing or other wise) azhar n kimi bought some roti canai at ridiculously cheap price but good enough to be our bfast for that morning. 1 hour later, all were dressed up and packed up ready to check out to our last destination. Before our departure, the homestay owner had captured few pictures of us to be uploaded into their blog later.

2nd last destination, was the historical building at melaka. Frankly, I didn’t bother about what the place was called and what is was used to be before, as my main focus was to take tones of pictures. Indeed, supplied with 3 cameras (1 kodak+1 sony+1 sony dslr) I bet there were soooo many pictures! What I can recall is that, I climbed up&down lots of stairs till I gave up on my primavera wedges and changed into the comfy cheap slipper.

The day was getting hotter and Fatin started to cry once in a while with the fact that she refused to wear the cap, though there still a lot of place to jalan2, I think we had enough. We had our lunch at jonker 88 again! This time around I ate the mango ice kacang (drooling!) and nasi lemak sambal udang (just ignored this pls! ) while the rest opted for durian cendol+cendol+laksa asam+nasi lemak rendang. Finished eating around 3 p.m. and now time to go home (so sad, why good thing ended fast?)

So, overall, I’d spent: RM30 (accommodation), RM26 (seafood), RM8.70(late lunch at McD) RM69.90 (blouse) RM1.70(ice kacang), RM6.20(mango ice kacang n nasi lemak) = RM 142.50..(not incl toll and petrol) ..for 2d/1n at melaka..murahlaa tu!

Ikan Bakar Muara Sg Duyong Part 1

Our main mission: Ikan Bakar at Muara Sungai Duyong, cendol@jonker street..
Project member consisted of kimi, izma (mastermind ni), rina, azhar, fatin (org melaka yg pura2 jadi pelancong) and me (jonker walk’s addict)

The journey started on Saturday morning when Rina n Azhar fetched me at home. It took us around 2++ hours to reached Ayer Keroh, Melaka, From the toll, we headed to the Jafmanurin’s homestay which located not far from the MITC. The homestay was an apartment of 3 bedroom with 2 bathroom. It cost us around RM150 per night and it worth it as we really felt like we at home at the homestay.

Next destination was late lunch at Mc Donald Taman Buaya. After much consideration and thought (calories and price) I ate the regular mcd chicken and sundae cone top choc. It was still too early for dinner at Sungai Duyong, so we went to the Jonker Walk for a stroll and cendol. I, who was on mission to buy at least one printed, dress/blouse straight away wandering the street looking for the shop and I was so delighted when I find the shop! (Of course I ended up buying a red floral printed blouse..;p)

To satisfy our thirst, we bought cendol and ice kacang at Jonker 88. This was my 2nd time there, but this was the 1st time for rina+azhar+kimi+izma. So, I was not too overwhelmed with the taste of the ice kacang n its gula melaka. The rest otherwise were drooling over the cendol. So far, this was the best abc and cendol I’d ever eaten. The ice was so smooth and the thickness of gula melaka was such a good complement to each other! (too yummy..till we decided for another trip tomorrow)

The restaurant was located further inside nearby the Sungai Duyong. From the jonker walk, it took around 10 minutes to reach there. By the time we reached there, around 7pm, the place had been crowded with ppl, we managed to spot a place nearby the river. It was advised (based on Kimi and Izma’s experience, to not to seat nearby the walls, try to find a place nearby the river or with fans, so that you wont be having bad ventilation problem while savouring the seafood later)

We then hand picked ourself the seafood for our dinner. I joined Rina and Izma for a while, but as I was 1st time there and unsure of what to eat I just left the decision up to them. So, we ordered; one jug of fresh orange and lime ice, siakap bakar cili, ketam masak cili, pepahat masak serai and halia kot, kepah masak sweet sour, garlic and buttered prawn, sotong goring tepung and last but not least the kalian ikan masin. Sounds too much rite? But aint too much for us, as we slowly savouring the dishes till nothing left except the shell and bones! Btw, while waiting for the food, I can’t help to notice of how fast the waiter cleans up the table. once the customer leaves the table a group of 4-5 youngster will head to the table with broom, dustpan, wiping cloth and basin to put all the plates, jugs and others. These fasten up the process, which within 2-3 minutes the table is ready for the next customer. Beside having the seafood, we also had the tauhu bakar. While rina+azhar n izma+kimi had nasi lemak. Since we still had unfilled compartment, we ordered for otak2 as our dessert. This otak2 were good too. It was hot and when you tasted it you’ll know that the seafood used was fresh. Everything had been eaten, next was the payment. For all of what we had ordered, it cost us RM 131 (murah tak? Murah kan?)

lupe nak comment on the food..

pepahat masak halia - the 1st one i ate had pasir inside it..so i tried the second one, ok plak. however the 3rd one ade a bit pasir..soo who's up to the adventure bolehlaa try.

siakap bakar - the fish meat sgt lembut n membuka selera.. maybe becoz it was fresh from the sea..

ketam masak cili - spicy and such and adventure to eat for my teeth(nasib baik ketam tu byk isi, else sia2 laa gigit bagai nak rak)..sampai tudung pun ikut makan skali..

kepah sweet sour - yummy..kepah die besar2..so i was lost of count how much i ate it..

garlic buttered prawn - not too oily and the prawns were big and such a heaven for prawn lover's like me

sotong goreng tepung - not oily at all..very crunchy..nyum2 nyum2..

The day hadn’t over yet. After dinner, we hit the MBMB park. The trees in blue and white colours, made a nice spot for taking lots of photos during the nite. There was also small fountain which brings lots of joy to the kids and of course fatin loves it too. Tired and full, we went back to the apartment for a good nite sleep. Can’t wait for the next day; we had another two mission tomorrow!
